Dry VOC Adsorber Manufacturer: Industrial Systems from 500 to 80,000 CMH

NextAir Systems is a dry VOC adsorber manufacturer. We design, fabricate, and assemble dry VOC adsorbers in our own 30,000 sq ft manufacturing facility: compact box units from 500 CMH, multi-cell housings up to 20,000 CMH, and large cylindrical vessels up to 80,000 CMH. We export worldwide, with the Middle East and Africa as our strongest markets.

A dry adsorber uses no water and produces no liquid waste stream. The exhaust passes through a bed of engineered media that holds the VOCs until the media is replaced. What decides performance is how well the bed is matched to your compounds, your concentration, and your airflow, which is why the media type, form, and configuration are engineered for each duty, and why many streams use more than one media in stages.

If you are still deciding whether adsorption suits your process, start with our guide to dry VOC adsorbers and the gas phase filtration guide. If you already know you need one, this page covers what we build, how it scales, and how to get a quote.

Three Construction Formats, Matched to Scale

We do not stretch one design across the whole range. Three formats cover it, and all three share the same 900 mm media bay depth and a design face velocity of about 0.45 m/s, which gives roughly 2 seconds of empty bed contact time at rated airflow.

  • 500 to 2,000 CMH, compact box package. A simple sheet-metal housing with one media bay, built for single point sources such as a paint booth, a laboratory fume hood, or a QC bench.
  • 3,500 to 20,000 CMH, multi-cell rectangular housing. Standard 1.25 m x 1.25 m media cells in parallel, so airflow scales by adding cells and not by redesigning the housing. This is the format most often specified for paint, coating, and printing exhaust.
  • Above 20,000 CMH, large cylindrical vessel. A vertical vessel with a radial-flow annular bed, built for one large process stream, with the diameter fixed and the height growing with airflow.

Single-Unit Range: 500 to 20,000 CMH

Ten standard models cover single-unit duty. Contact time is the media bay volume divided by the airflow at rated duty.

Model Rated airflow (CMH) Format Contact time (s) Typical application scale
NVA-0500 500 Box 2.14 Small paint booth, lab fume hood exhaust, sample prep area
NVA-1000 1,000 Box 2.07 Small print shop, coating line spot extraction, QC lab
NVA-2000 2,000 Box 2.05 Mid-size paint booth, small flexo or gravure press, resin blending vent
NVA-3500 3,500 2 cells 2.89 Mid-size printing press, adhesive coating line, small chemical process vent
NVA-5000 5,000 2 cells 2.03 Full paint line booth exhaust, mid-size chemical process vent
NVA-7500 7,500 3 cells 2.03 Large printing operation, mid-size solvent-based coating plant
NVA-10000 10,000 4 cells 2.03 Large paint shop, chemical batch process venting
NVA-12500 12,500 5 cells 2.03 Large multi-booth coating facility, mid-size industrial process exhaust
NVA-15000 15,000 6 cells 2.03 Large industrial coating or laminating line, chemical plant process vent
NVA-20000 20,000 8 cells (2 rows) 2.03 Very large single-source process exhaust, major coating or printing facility

For a correctly specified media configuration, removal efficiency is typically above 95%, and often above 99% for well-adsorbed compounds at moderate loading. The actual figure depends on the compound, its concentration, and the capacity the media has left, not on the equipment alone.

Above 20,000 CMH: Banks or Large Vessels

NVA-20000 is the practical ceiling for the packaged multi-cell housing. Beyond it there are two standard routes, and the right one depends on your process and not only on the airflow number.

A bank of packaged units. Two or more units in parallel, sharing a plenum or ducted independently, suit sites with several separate process sources, or sites where units must be serviced one at a time. A bank also gives you redundancy. For a 40,000 CMH requirement that must still be met with one unit out of service, four NVA-15000 units are the usual arrangement, because any three of them still deliver 45,000 CMH. A shared controller then schedules media change-out so the units are never all due at once.

A large cylindrical vessel. For one large combined stream, such as a major process vent or a treatment off-gas, a single vertical vessel with a radial-flow annular bed is often more practical than a row of housings. The outer diameter stays at 4,400 mm across the whole range and the height grows with airflow, Vessels are fabricated in sections in our factory and then assembled and installed on site, so the finished size is not limited by what can be shipped in one piece.

Model Rated airflow (CMH) Vessel diameter (mm) Vessel height (mm)
NVA-25000 25,000 4,400 3,400
NVA-30000 30,000 4,400 3,700
NVA-40000 40,000 4,400 4,200
NVA-50000 50,000 4,400 4,800
NVA-60000 60,000 4,400 5,400
NVA-80000 80,000 4,400 6,500

Because they are built in sections, a vessel does not have to travel as one oversize load, and site assembly and installation are planned with you as part of the project. For a continuous duty that cannot stop, a twin-vessel arrangement, with each vessel sized for the full flow, gives you the equivalent of N+1.

Built on Our Own Factory Floor

Our factory is a 30,000 sq ft manufacturing facility. The equipment on the floor includes:

  • 10-ton capacity EOT cranes for lifting housings, frames, and heavy sections
  • Hydraulic press brake machines for bending sheet metal
  • Motorized roller machines for rolling and forming
  • MIG and TIG welding lines
  • Hydraulic shearing machines for cutting
  • Computerized dynamic balancing machines for blower impellers
  • Test instruments, and the other basic machines of a working factory

Housings, frames, and access panels are cut, bent, rolled, and welded here, so media bay layout, panel positions, and duct connections can be adapted to your site. The large vessels are fabricated in sections on our floor, then assembled and installed on site. If you need a fan supplied separately or as a spare, we also manufacture centrifugal blowers.

Standard Construction and Options

Standard units use a mild steel housing with a powder-coated exterior and a solvent-resistant internal coating, removable access panels for media change-out, and proprietary NextAir adsorption media engineered for your compounds. Protection and instrumentation built in as standard:

  • MERV 8 pre-filter stage to protect the bed from particulate loading
  • Bed temperature monitoring
  • Inlet LEL (Lower Explosive Limit) monitoring with a high-level interlock
  • Local control panel with a pressure differential gauge across the bed and run-hour tracking
  • Direct-drive centrifugal fan with a backward-curved wheel, matched to the bed’s pressure drop

Options are chosen for the duty:

  • An additional or alternative media stage for specific VOC profiles, or for compounds the standard media captures poorly, such as hydrogen sulfide
  • A multi-stage bed in series for mixed-compound streams or higher removal duties
  • Stainless steel housing for corrosive or coastal sites
  • A variable frequency drive on the process fan for turndown and part-load savings
  • Continuous outlet VOC monitoring (PID or FID) for real-time breakthrough detection
  • BACnet or Modbus integration, and a shared multi-unit controller for banks

For very heavy or high-concentration streams, where destroying the VOCs makes more sense than capturing them, we also build regenerative thermal oxidizers.

Electrical supply is configured to your site, at 50 or 60 Hz.

Industries We Build Dry VOC Adsorbers For

Our guidance by industry:

Lead Times, Shipping, and Export

How long delivery takes depends on the size, capacity, and scale of the project. The minimum is 30 days, and larger or custom-engineered systems take longer. We give you a delivery schedule with the quotation.

NVA-0500 to NVA-2000 ship fully assembled on standard freight. Multi-cell housings ship on a single skid, on standard freight up to NVA-12500 and as oversize-load freight for NVA-15000 and NVA-20000. Large vessels are fabricated in sections and assembled on site, so they ship as sections and not as one finished vessel.

Our exports go worldwide, led by the Middle East and Africa, and we also supply facilities in India. Our VOC adsorber guidance by country includes Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, Egypt, and India, or browse all locations.

Certified Quality Systems

Our factory operates under certified management systems: ISO 9001:2015 (quality), ISO 14001:2015 (environmental management), and ISO 45001:2018 (occupational health and safety). More about the company is on our About page.

What We Need to Quote a Dry VOC Adsorber

  • Exhaust airflow, and whether it is continuous or intermittent
  • The VOC compounds present and their concentrations; a solvent list or the safety data sheets is ideal
  • Exhaust temperature and humidity
  • Operating hours, and the permit or emission limit you need to meet
  • Site details: voltage and frequency, space limits, and any coastal or corrosive environment
  • Whether you need a single unit or a redundant arrangement

If you do not have the compound data yet, send what you have and we will tell you what is missing. Media selection depends on it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are you a dry VOC adsorber manufacturer or a trading company?

We are a manufacturer. Our dry VOC adsorbers are designed, fabricated, and assembled in our own 30,000 sq ft manufacturing facility, and the large cylindrical vessels are fabricated in sections in our factory, then assembled and installed on site.

What is the largest dry VOC adsorber you build?

Our largest standard model is the NVA-80000, a vertical vessel rated at 80,000 CMH, 4,400 mm in diameter and 6,500 mm tall. For larger or more critical duties we build banks of units or twin vessels.

What is the minimum lead time for a VOC adsorber?

Our minimum is 30 days. How long a specific order takes depends on its size, capacity, and scale, and the schedule is confirmed with the quotation.

Can you handle a mixed solvent stream?

Yes. Mixed streams often need more than one media type or a multi-stage bed in series, so we select media from your actual compound list and concentrations, not from a single generic fill.

Is the media regenerated, or replaced?

Standard units are non-regenerative: the media is replaced when it is saturated, and the change-out interval is worked out from your compounds and loading. For very heavy or high-concentration streams, we also build regenerative thermal oxidizers, which destroy the VOCs by oxidation instead of capturing them.

How do I know which model I need?

Start from your exhaust airflow and your compound list. We size with headroom above the duty point so the contact time stays comfortably within the design range, instead of running the model at its ceiling. Send us your conditions and we will recommend a model.
