Odor Control Adsorber Manufacturer: Dry Odor Removal Units from 1,000 to 20,000 CMH

NextAir Systems is an odor control adsorber manufacturer. We design, fabricate, and assemble dry odor control adsorbers, also sold as dry odor removal units, in our own 30,000 sq ft manufacturing facility: horizontal single units from 1,000 to 20,000 CMH, multi-bank systems for larger capacities, and vertical vessels for large-scale facilities. Our adsorbers are exported worldwide, led by the Middle East and Africa.

A dry adsorber removes odorous gases by binding them to a solid media, with no water, no chemical dosing, and no wastewater to manage. The media is matched to the compounds causing your odor, such as hydrogen sulfide, ammonia, and mercaptans, and it is replaced when it is spent.

If you are still tracing the source of an odor problem, start with our guide to dry odor control adsorbers, our guide to dry odor removal units, and our industrial odor control guide. Already sure you need one? The rest of this page sets out the sizes, the larger formats, and how to request a quote.

Single-Unit Range: 1,000 to 20,000 CMH

Our single units are horizontal, built as a compact box up to 2,000 CMH and as multi-cell housings above that. Every size uses a 900 mm media bay and is designed around a face velocity of about 0.45 m/s, so the air spends about 2 seconds in the bed at rated flow. Tougher duties lengthen that by adding bed stages.

Rated airflow (CMH) Format Contact time (s) Typical application scale
1,000 Compact box 2.07 Small pumping station or lift station
2,000 Compact box 2.05 Pumping station, small headworks, or small food-processing exhaust
3,500 2 cells 2.89 Mid-size headworks, sludge handling area, or composting vent
5,000 2 cells 2.03 Wastewater headworks, transfer station, or process building
7,500 3 cells 2.03 Larger treatment works or food-processing plant
10,000 4 cells 2.03 Large headworks and sludge handling, or a landfill or composting hall
12,500 5 cells 2.03 Large treatment plant covers and process buildings
15,000 6 cells 2.03 Major treatment works or large food-processing facility
20,000 8 cells (2 rows) 2.03 Very large single odor source or combined exhaust

Contact time means the volume of the media bay divided by the airflow it is rated for. It is the figure that decides whether an adsorber actually reaches its removal efficiency at your odorant concentration, so we size it from your loading and not from airflow alone.

Above 20,000 CMH: Multi-Bank Systems or Vertical Vessels

A multi-bank system. Two or more horizontal units in parallel, sharing a plenum or ducted separately, suit sites with several odor sources, or sites where units must be serviced one at a time. If 30,000 CMH must still be treated while one unit is out for media change-out, three 15,000 CMH units are the usual arrangement, since any two still deliver 30,000 CMH.

A vertical vessel. For large capacities and large-scale facilities we build vertical vessels with a radial-flow annular bed. Capacity is added by making the vessel taller, since the outer diameter is held at 4,400 mm across the range. Vessels are fabricated in sections at our factory, and the sections are assembled and installed on site.

Rated airflow (CMH) Vessel diameter (mm) Vessel height (mm)
25,000 4,400 3,400
30,000 4,400 3,700
40,000 4,400 4,200
50,000 4,400 4,800
60,000 4,400 5,400
80,000 4,400 6,500

Each height includes the media bed needed for about 2 seconds of contact time at that airflow, plus roughly 2 m for the inlet and outlet sections. Where odor control cannot be interrupted, two vessels, each sized for the full flow, give you the equivalent of N+1.

Standard Construction and Options

Standard units are built as follows:

  • A mild steel housing finished in powder coat, with panels that open or come off for media change-out
  • Proprietary NextAir adsorption media, chosen for your odorants
  • A MERV 8 pre-filter ahead of the bed, to keep dust off the media
  • A local control panel showing the pressure drop across the bed and the run hours
  • A direct-drive centrifugal fan, backward-curved, sized to overcome the bed’s resistance

Options are chosen for the duty:

  • A second or different media stage for compounds the standard media captures poorly
  • Beds in series (multi-stage) for mixed odorants or extra contact time
  • A stainless steel housing where the air is corrosive or the site is coastal
  • A variable frequency drive on the fan, for savings at part load
  • Continuous outlet gas monitoring, to detect breakthrough as it happens
  • BACnet or Modbus links to your control system, and a shared controller across multi-bank systems

Electrical supply is configured to your site, at 50 or 60 Hz.

Why Plants Choose Dry Adsorption

A dry unit has no scrubbing liquid, no wastewater, and no biological system to keep alive, which matters most where water is scarce or discharge is controlled. The trade-off is that the media is consumed, which is why we work out the change-out interval at the quotation stage and not after installation.

Industries We Build Odor Control For

Our Fabrication Shop

Odor control units are cut, formed, welded, and assembled in our 30,000 sq ft factory, which has:

  • MIG and TIG welding lines for housings and vessel shells
  • Hydraulic shearing machines
  • Motorized roller machines for rolling vessel sections
  • Hydraulic press brake machines
  • 10-ton capacity EOT cranes
  • Computerized balancing machines for blower impellers
  • Test instruments, together with the basic machinery of a working factory

Housings, frames, and vessel sections are made on our own floor, so connection positions and layout can follow your site. Bought-out items such as fan motors are selected and matched to the unit. If you need a fan on its own, we also manufacture centrifugal blowers, and for solvent streams see our dry VOC adsorbers.

Lead Times, Shipping, and Export

Orders begin at 30 days. Larger units, multi-bank systems, and vessels take longer, and we state the delivery schedule in the quotation.

Our odor control units reach customers worldwide, with the Middle East and Africa in particular, and we also supply facilities in India. Our guidance by country includes Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, Egypt, South Africa, and India, or browse all locations.

Certified Quality Systems

Our odor control units are made under ISO 9001:2015 for quality, ISO 14001:2015 for the environment, and ISO 45001:2018 for occupational health and safety. See our About page for more.

What We Need to Quote an Odor Control Adsorber

  • The airflow, and each source being captured: wet well, headworks, tank, process vent, or building
  • The odorants and their concentrations; an odor survey or gas readings are ideal, hydrogen sulfide in particular
  • Air temperature and humidity at the inlet
  • Operating hours, and the outlet limit or odor target you have to meet
  • Site details: electrical supply, the space available, and whether the environment is coastal or corrosive
  • Whether a single unit, a multi-bank system, a vertical vessel, or a redundant arrangement suits you

Frequently Asked Questions

Are you an odor control adsorber manufacturer or a trading company?

We make our own odor control adsorbers. They are designed, built, and assembled in our 30,000 sq ft factory, and the only bought-out items are components such as fan motors.

Is an odor control adsorber the same as an odor removal unit?

Yes. They are the same dry adsorption technology. Buyers who start from the problem, such as a neighbor complaint or an odor audit, tend to search for an odor removal unit, and engineers who start from the technology search for an odor control adsorber.

What odors can a dry adsorber treat?

Odorous gases such as hydrogen sulfide, ammonia, and mercaptans, with the media matched to the compounds in your stream. Some sources need more than one media in stages, so we select from your actual odorants and concentrations and not from one generic fill.

What is the largest single odor control unit you build?

A horizontal single unit goes up to 20,000 CMH. Above that we build multi-bank systems, and for large capacities and large-scale facilities we build vertical vessels up to 80,000 CMH each.

Is the media regenerated, or replaced?

Replaced. Dry odor control adsorbers are non-regenerative, so the media is changed when it is spent, and we calculate the change-out interval from your odorant loading and airflow. No scrubbing liquid, chemical dosing, or wastewater is involved.

What is the minimum lead time?

From 30 days. How long your order takes depends on the size, capacity, and scale of the project, and we state the schedule in the quotation.

Do you export odor control adsorbers?

Yes. Our adsorbers are exported worldwide, and the Middle East and Africa are our strongest markets.
