Air Handling Unit Manufacturer: Industrial AHUs from 1,000 to 30,000 CMH

NextAir Systems is an air handling unit manufacturer. We design, fabricate, and assemble industrial air handling units in our own 30,000 sq ft manufacturing facility, from 1,000 to 30,000 CMH in a single unit, with multi-unit arrangements for larger capacities and custom-engineered systems for large-scale projects, including air delivery above 200,000 CMH. Everything is made and assembled in-house except bought-out items such as motors and drives. Units go out worldwide, and the Middle East and Africa are where we are strongest.

An air handling unit is only as good as its match to your climate and your process. The coil has to be sized for your peak wet-bulb conditions, the fan for the full system’s static pressure, and the filtration for what the space actually needs. We configure each unit around those three things and not around a catalogue size.

If you are still working out what your facility needs, start with our guide to industrial air handling units. Where cooling-coil dehumidification cannot reach your target humidity, a desiccant stage is added; see our desiccant dehumidifier manufacturer page.

Standard Single-Unit Sizes: 1,000 to 30,000 CMH

Ten standard sizes cover single-unit duty. The coil face area shown is what is needed at a face velocity of about 2.5 m/s, a common upper design limit for cooling coils that keeps water from being carried off the coil. Sizes in between, and larger, are built to the project, and the duties listed are typical, not rules.

Rated airflow (CMH) Cooling coil face area at 2.5 m/s (m²) Typical duty
1,000 0.11 Small laboratory, control room, or small clean room
2,000 0.22 Operating theatre, small production room, or small server room
3,500 0.39 Ward wing, clean packing room, or small office floor
5,000 0.56 Pharmaceutical production room or mid-size electronics assembly area
7,500 0.83 Larger clean room suite or hospital department
10,000 1.11 Full production floor, large office floor, or section of a data hall
15,000 1.67 Large production hall or commercial floor plate
20,000 2.22 Major production area or large building zone
25,000 2.78 Very large single-zone space
30,000 3.33 Largest single-unit duty: large halls and building zones

The airflow comes from the load and not from floor area. As an example, a space with a 200 kW sensible cooling load, supplied with air 10 K cooler than the room, needs about 200 ÷ (1.2 × 1.006 × 10) = 16.6 m³/s, or about 59,600 CMH. That is two 30,000 CMH units, or three if the load must still be met with one unit out of service.

Multi-Unit Systems and Custom Projects

Above 30,000 CMH we build a multi-unit arrangement: two or more units in parallel, sharing a plenum or serving separate zones. A bank also gives you redundancy. For a 60,000 CMH requirement that must still be met with one unit out of service, three 30,000 CMH units are the usual arrangement, because any two of them still deliver 60,000 CMH.

Very large installations, including air delivery above 200,000 CMH, are custom-engineered to the project. The number of units, the plant layout, the plenum arrangement, and the redundancy are agreed with you starting from the load calculation.

Specified Around Your Climate and Process

These are the decisions we settle with you before the unit is built:

  • Total airflow, set by the zone’s volume, occupancy, and process, not by a per-square-metre rule of thumb
  • Coil capacity against your region’s actual peak wet-bulb conditions, not the annual average
  • A static pressure budget for the whole system, with margin for filter loading over the service interval
  • Filtration grade matched to the application, from general ventilation to electronics and pharmaceutical clean areas
  • Dehumidification strategy: cooling coil alone, or a dedicated desiccant stage when the target humidity is below what condensation can reliably reach
  • Energy recovery between exhaust and intake air where outside air is extreme and ventilation rates are high

Made in Our Own Factory

Everything is made on one 30,000 sq ft factory floor, which has the following equipment:

  • Hydraulic press brake machines for panels and frames
  • Hydraulic shearing machines for cutting sheet
  • EOT cranes of 10-ton capacity, for lifting long casing sections
  • MIG and TIG welding lines for casings and frames
  • Motorized roller machines
  • Test instruments and further basic factory machines
  • Computerized dynamic balancing machines for blower impellers

Casings, frames, and sections are fabricated and assembled here, so section lengths, connection positions, and layout can follow your plant room. Bought-out items such as motors and drives are matched to the unit. If you need the fan supplied on its own, we manufacture our own centrifugal blowers.

Industries We Build Air Handling Units For

  • Pharmaceutical: GMP clean areas, with cleanroom classification and humidity held under control
  • Healthcare: hospitals, with pressure relationships and air change rates set room by room
  • Electronics manufacturing: particulate control and humidity held for static and moisture-sensitive work
  • Food and beverage: hygienic design suited to washdown and clean-to-dirty pressure cascades
  • Data centres: keeping server hardware inside its operating range
  • Commercial buildings: occupant comfort balanced against energy cost

Lead Times, Shipping, and Export

Our minimum lead time is 30 days. How long a given order takes depends on the unit’s size, capacity, and the scale of the project, and the delivery schedule, along with how the unit will be shipped, is confirmed with the quotation.

Units ship worldwide, most often to the Middle East and Africa. For regional guidance, see Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Egypt, and Kenya, or browse all locations.

Certified Quality Systems

The management systems behind our units are certified to ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 45001:2018, covering quality, the environment, and occupational health and safety. Learn more about us on the About page.

What We Need to Quote an Air Handling Unit

  • The zone or zones served: volume, occupancy, and process requirements
  • Design conditions: peak outside dry-bulb and wet-bulb temperatures, and the room conditions to hold
  • Sensible and latent cooling loads, or the supply air temperature and airflow you want
  • Filtration grade and any clean-area classification
  • External static pressure, or the duct and terminal layout from which we can build the budget
  • Whether this is new construction or a retrofit, since a retrofit must confirm that the existing fan can handle added resistance
  • Site details: voltage and frequency, plant-room space and access, and any coastal or corrosive environment
  • Whether you need a single unit, a multi-unit arrangement, or a redundant arrangement

Request a Quote for an Air Handling Unit

Send us your zone details, design conditions, and loads and we will recommend a single unit, a multi-unit arrangement, or a custom system. Contact us for a quote, or read the air handling unit guide first if you are still settling the specification.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are you an air handling unit manufacturer or a trading company?

We are a manufacturer. Our air handling units are designed, fabricated, and assembled in our own 30,000 sq ft factory, and everything is made in-house except bought-out items such as motors and drives.

What is the largest air handling unit you build as a single unit?

Our standard single units run from 1,000 to 30,000 CMH. Larger capacities are built as multi-unit arrangements, and very large projects, including air delivery above 200,000 CMH, are custom-engineered.

Can you supply a redundant (N+1) arrangement?

Yes. For a 60,000 CMH requirement that must still be met with one unit out of service, three 30,000 CMH units are the usual arrangement, because any two of them still deliver 60,000 CMH.

What do you buy out rather than make?

Everything is manufactured and assembled in-house except bought-out items such as motors and drives, which are selected and matched to the unit.

What is the minimum lead time?

The minimum is 30 days, and the actual time follows the unit's size, capacity, and the scale of the project. You get the schedule with the quotation.

Do you export air handling units?

Yes. We ship worldwide, and the Middle East and Africa are our strongest markets.
